Bicton Arena

East Budleigh, Budleigh Salterton EX9 7BL, UK – 01395 441162

Lovely place with everything you need, permanent stabling, horse showers and great schools. Parking isn't a problem however a lot of the area is on a slope so being level for the night can mean a bit of adjusting. Nice toilet block, however after two nights it didn't appear to have been cleaned once and showers are cramped, have no seating to aid changing and are not free (50p for 5mins), which probably contributes to the lack of cleanliness due to people not rinsing down after their shower.

First class establishment in amazing surroundings. Sets the bar.

Ladram Bay Holiday Park

Ladram Road, Otterton, Budleigh Salterton EX9 7BX, UK – 01395 568398

Went to Ladram Bay for 6 nights in September, camping pitches are on a series of ledges so everyone gets a sea view, pitches are flat with grass and a gravel road in front for car access. Two sets of toilet blocks less than 2 minutes walk from pitches, 1 which was a modern block, we used both blocks and preferred the older ones due to how powerful the showers were, both blocks have touch screen shower controls with the new block having touch screen heating controls. Both blocks were spotlessly clean all the times we went no matter what time day or night and were both well stocked. Fish & chip shop was only open 5pm-9pm as off peak season but food was excellent quality and reasonably priced. Another plus point is the excellent swimming pool 20-25 metres long by 8-10 metres wide with a separate toddlers area with a small slide, complex also includes a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and a gym. The site is situated on the South West coastal path and has stunning views of the coast towards Sidmouth (3-4 miles) and Budleigh Salterton (4-5 miles). We didn't use the beach facilities due to the time of the year but again a stunning setting if you get the weather.

I love this place so much! I have visited here many times. Brilliant for touring but can get quite muddy so bring your wellies. Lots of walks, its family friendly and there is a pebble beach on site.

This has got much more humane. The Pet Travel Scheme allows pet animals from certain countries to enter the UK without quarantine, as long as they meet certain conditions.
